Bonnie Prince Billy - Purple Bird → Listen on Bandcamp
I used to listen to Bonnie Prince Billy a lot, I especially loved his album Beware. Somehow I forgot about BPB for a couple of years. It is a joy…

A new Visseltofta Folkfest review in the dutch online magazine Altcountry Forum written by Johan Schoenmakers, translated by Google.
Link to the original review in Dutch HERE.
Some records simply belong on a certain record label. This also applies to the first solo work of Swedish singer-songwriter and virtuoso musician Björn Peter Thisell, whose record was released in our country via Continental Record Services, where quality and a love of music are central.
Just like in the accompanying booklet, the forty-two-year-old father of two children (and a cat, Smulan) keeps it simple on Visseltofta Folkfest, an album title that refers to a small village with barely 100 inhabitants, with beautifully elaborated English-language songs and dreamy melodies. Self-written and perfectly recorded in his house in Bjärnum, he takes the listener to the serene landscapes of Sweden from the opener Poncho. Nine beautiful songs on this physical product, which manages to touch you for more than half an hour. A record with exceptionally beautiful harmonies and strong interplay by Björn Peter Thisell, Malin Näslund, Björn Kleinhenz and singer Beatrice Rosdahl, among others. Thisell has spoken in interviews about his desire to preserve the authenticity of the music, and he certainly succeeded in doing so at Visseltofta Folkfest.

So, this is the official home of all my musical endeavors, my solo stuff Björn Peter Thisell and that with my band Thisell.
I will also post recommendations for things that other people have written: songs, albums, books, films etc etc. You will find those by clicking "Blog" in the menu.
All the best,
Peter
